"International Puppetry Arts Exchange Centre", subordinate to "Ming Ri Institute For Arts Education", has been developed from "The Scheme for Conservation and Development of Puppetry and Shadow Puppetry". Its aims and objectives are:
"The Scheme for Conservation and Development of Puppetry and Shadow Puppetry" has begun in 1997. After visiting, investigating and studying in the Mainland China and the foreign countries many times, as well as attending and taking part in the international activities, for instances, the conferences, the puppet festivals, the courses, etc., we have acquired the knowledge and the information of Chinese and Western puppetry including the puppetry history, the origination, the types, puppet art and the technique of expression. As a result, we have not only built ties of friendship and established the network of personal relationship, but also written many reports and articles. They are "The Report of the Trip in USA", "The Report of the Trip in Britain", "The Report of the Trip in Czech Republic", "The Report of the Puppet Festival held by Puppeteers of America and the course of children education & puppetry held by Emerson College in Britain", "The Establishment of 'Puppetry Delta' between China, Hong Kong and USA", "The Trip of Chinese puppetry in the new generation (The Report about Vice President of UNIMA International Mr. Vincent Anthony's visit in China)", "The Predestination of String, The Report of the Exchange Programme between China and Germany in 2001", "U.S. Non-tradition, an Overview of Puppetry in the U.S." and "The Brief History of Chinese Puppetry (The Lecture Notes of German Trip in 2001) ---- accompanying with us and passing through the days of happiness and entertainment for 2000 years". The main tasks of International Puppetry Arts Exchange Centre in the present stage:
We deeply believe that International Puppetry Arts Exchange Centre can accelerate the cultural and art exchange between Chinese puppetry and the Western one. Through understanding and learning, the development of Chinese and the foreign puppetry art can be propelled forward. This can not only preserve the traditional puppetry art, but also further develop the puppetry art.
