China Chengdu Art Theatre of Puppet & Shadow Show (CCATPSS), being originated from China Chengdu Troupe of Puppet Show, is one of the ten most famous art theatres of puppet and shadow shows in China and also the most representative and demonstrative state-owned art performance organization of puppet and shadow shows in the southwest of China. On the basis of carrying forward the good traditions of art for puppet and shadow shows with Sichuan style, CCATPSS has been using the performance skill and experience of many local operas, folk songs and dances for reference, and has been extensively adopting the essence of the various schools of puppet and shadow show art in the north and south of China.

CCATPSS has been invited to visit Thailand, Japan, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Holland, Sweden, Portugal, Finland, Korea, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Singapore, USA, Mexico and Canada etc., where its performances have been warmly welcomed and highly praised by local masses, artistic circles and the media as " the true, standard and perfect art" and " among the bests of the world puppet art circles".
